McVICKER PUTS TOGETHER NEW ADMINISTRATION

Story by ERINA JENSEN

Shortly after taking residence at Liberty House, the President nominated Codex as his Chief of Staff.

We have been informed by a senior administration official that the incoming commander-in-chief has tipped former senior administration officials John Daly (Business Minister - Avaram) and Mac McDonald (Chief of Staff - Pijanowski) for cabinet posts in the McVicker camp.

Herald Political Commentator and Editorial Partner T. J. Norton viewed the choices as "a balance of experience, conciliation and humour" in describing the prospective nominees.

"After the McVicker supporters in the Libertarian Party branded McDonald a 'racist' - there was a huge emphasis on the then-leadership nominee to denounce those comments. This is a perfect opportunity to make it up to McDonald and at the same time benefit from his leadership and experience", Mr Norton said.

Mr Norton's advice to the President:

  1. Codex on the Economy as he was the McVicker head-kicker on the issue during the campaign;

  2. McDonald for Chief of Staff (was COS to former President Pijanowski, ran a tight ship and brought a lot of people together.

"This is what the new administration needs now - bringing people together", Mr Norton replied.

When asked about his reasons, Norton said it was "a time for renewal and not sending mixed messages".

"Daly is a good choice but considering the election centred around a change in economic direction, I can't see the President returning Daly to this portfolio. After all, John Daly was President Avaram's chief financial architect", Mr Norton cautioned.

"You can't throw out a president on a change of economic direction and keep the opponent's head of all business policy - it sends mixed messages about the agenda and makes voters reconsider what those economic differences actually were. If there's anything to lose here, is that the President can't afford not to get the best person they can get their hands on to lead the new economic policy - it's his political bread and butter".
"The difficulty in getting anyone knowledgeable enough to stand up for the nomination, is that a lot of Titulians consider the economy to be the start or finish of a presidency - and the Economics portfolio is the poisoned chalice from which they drink".

Mr Norton concluded that based on the electoral math, re-positioning Daly to Immigration and nominating former Court nominee Brian Negron to head the ailing Department of Justice would be a better restructure of the positions.

President McVicker has authorised press credentials to the Herald to cover the new administration and we'll be reporting the latest from Liberty House and new administration policies as they develop.

It has been an immense day for Titulia as the nation decided to change course. How little or how great the effects of that course, will be determined by the events of the days, weeks and months to come.
