Christening ceremony for TJN buiding is announced
Titulia City - United Citizens Corp & Titulia Media Group have announced that September 1st will be the day they christen the T.J. Norton Building. This building will replace the old Christen Building in downtown Titulia city.
The new building will house the United Citzens Corporation, Titulia Media Group, main newspaper offices of the Titulia Herald, and a special residential suite has been created for the Titulia Media originals founders, Mrs. Erina Jensen and Tom J Norton. If they do not make it their home UCC president Karl Christen hopes it can be donated to a Titulian citizen in need.
The Christening will be conducted by the Bishop of the Titulian Catholic Church. Services will begin at 12:00 AM GST. Everyone in Titulia is welcome, there will be a BBQ in the TJ Norton Building parking lot.

The Titulia Herald back in business!

I'd like to announce to the citizens of our republic, that The Titulia Herald is back! First we would like to thank it's founder, Tom J Norton and his wife Erina Jensen for their tireless efforts in making The Titulian Herald the paper it is today.
We'd also like to thanks those previous citizens that supported this paper, and we look forward to serving the citizens of Titulia far into the future. Originally Dennis McVicker was to assume the editor position at this paper. However, personal circumstances have made it necessary to assume this role until he can re assume the position.
We will also be looking for staff writers, and these will be full time positions, with salaries and other benefits. If your interested in this position, please email us - TitulianEconomist@gmail.com.

NORTON RESIGNS HERALD EDITORIAL PARTNERSHIP

After some negotiation, Herald Editorial Partner T. J. Norton has resigned the partnership of Titulia's fastest growing media outlet. He will continue to serve TMG as Director, but has decided to retire from his journalism duties as a matter of propriety.
"The reality is that the Herald is the media group's most senior publication reporting on hard-hitting political and social issues.. as a member of the Republican leadership I feel it is more ethical for a party figure to remain separate from writing for a news outlet", Norton said.
Mr Norton has a major workload coming up for the next couple of weeks as the organiser of the June 2009 Republican National Convention to be held at the RNC Dome and Conference Centre and acting platform committee chair.
In the wake of former RNC leader Luxis Avaram's confirmation as court justice, Mr Norton has also taken over the day-to-day operations of the Republican Party leadership until a new leader is elected around June 16. Mr Norton was a previous leader and presidential nominee of the Republican Party in February this year and knows the role well.
After the election, T. J. will turn his focus to TMG's new business publication - the Titulia Business Weekly (TBW) and community voice The Titulia Leader. His immediate corporate concern is to technically equip and develop TMG's new radio network and anticipated future flagship - T21 Radio.
"The TBW, the Leader and T21 are different to the Herald as their prospective format is not styled as opinion or biased text - rather as publisher, moderator and presenter respectively", Mr Norton said.
Mr Norton said T21 will also cover the next national election and conduct their first Face the Nation show as a roundtable debate with presidential candidates.
Responding to a request for comment from the Herald, Mr Norton said that it will be a good opportunity to spend some time with the candidates and seek their views on Titulia's growth and where we can potentially head.
"It's something that hasn't been touched before", he said.
"Obviously the candidates will focus on what makes their tick, but Titulia is also seeking their ideas. The public will hear their ideas the same way as some kind of poll-tested, time ticking debate would, but it will provide a perfect platform for candidates to talk openly about their ideas in an environment as comfortable as possible", he concluded.
T21 is planning to air for the first time in the next few days and specific launch times, website and compatible software listening devices will be made available shortly before launch.

TIMES EDITOR-IN-CHIEF RESPONDS: "It's a matter of interpretation"

Before the official follow-up to our recent article, we can confirm we have received an official response from Titulia Times editor-in-chief MC Daddy D.
At 10:35 pm AEST on Saturday night I received an abusive Skype call from MC Daddy D in which he referred to me as a "mother[expletive]" for reporting on the story.
MC Daddy D confirmed the allegation of threatening to withdraw from business from Manhattan LLP lawyers if the Titulia Ice Hockey League (TIHL) refused to sever 'business ties' with the Titulia Herald.
In his defense, MC Daddy D argued it was a 'breach of ethics' for TIHL CEO Steven Leggett to conduct business with the Herald as he [Leggett] is the Times' lawyer. When I asked MC Daddy D to provide evidence of the existence of a contract that stated the TIHL was prohibited from conducting non-legal related business with another media company, Daddy D did not confirm the existence of any document preventing the TIHL conducting business with a media outlet and that it was a 'matter of interpretation'.
When asked if he [MC Daddy D] attempted to apply pressure to Mr Leggett's TIHL business decisions by implying he go over his head to Manhattan LLP founder Drmanhaton (now Chief Justice), MC Daddy D again referred to it as a 'business decision'.
If DD had of left it at that (minus the abuse) his reasons would have seemed valid, albeit concerns of the Times' continuing a domineering attitude of their share in the Titulia media market - which is currently holding.
But then the conversation took a sudden shift to one of legality. When DD mentioned the words 'code of ethics' - it got my attention. "It is unethical for your lawyer to do business with your competitor", MC Daddy D said during the phone conversation.
Last time I checked - TMG, the Herald, nor any of our media outlets were represented by Manhattan LLP Lawyers.
When I asked MC Daddy D if he was claiming Mr Leggett shared privileged legal advice given to the Herald about Times' business interests he responded ".. well how do I know that?"
When asked to clarify any reason he [DD] had that there was professional wrongdoing on the part of Mr Leggett, the TIHL, the Herald - Daddy D immediately changed the course of the discussion and protested that he had been treated unfairly.
MC Daddy D - despite not being able to argue one single fact in the Herald's report - offered continued abuse and 'interpretation' as his excuse.
Based on the Leggett e-mail there is no inaccuracy between Erina and Bailey's report or MC Daddy D's responses - including that based on what we have seen there has been no legal wrongdoing on the part of the Times. However it is clear now that the harsh discourse from the Times is indicative of failing to achieve any sense of co-operation from our competitor.
Failing to provide any legal or documentary argument to the Herald's claims, MC Daddy D then persisted in continuing a tirade of verbal attacks and after several times of being asked to behave cordially during the conversation, the call was ended in failing to achieve any degree of maturity from the media chief to ascertain any argument.
As for MC Daddy D's comment directed at me, ".. it's not that I don't respect you .. it's that I don't like you very much".
Considering that this is the most excessive attempt of intimidation I have seen in Titulia since my citizenship began and with none of the facts in the story challenged, editor to editor I only have one thing to say to such childish behaviour from someone who claims to be a grown man -
- right back at ya buddy!

TIMES EDITOR-IN-CHIEF CONGRATULATES HERALD

In an e-mail sent to Herald Managing Director T. J. Norton, Titulia Times Editor-in-Chief MC Daddy D conveyed his congratulations to the paper on its launch. In responding to comment, Mr Norton said that ".. basically the Herald looks to aim for the same calibre of reporting as the Times".
"We want to encourage the citizens that there are two major outlets out there - the Herald and the Times - that they can turn to", Mr Norton said.
"Having a wealth of technological resources at our disposal, we certainly wouldn't have a problem working with other major outlets like the Times to bring Titulia out of the stone age, so-to-speak".
Mr Norton went on to emphasise his appreciation to the Times for helping Titulia foster a zeal for independent media and provides and opportunity for citizens to interact in a "fun" environment.

"Due to my semi-retirement from the Titulian public service - for now - it made sense to find opportunities in the private sector. Tim made political coverage honourable again and I couldn't look to a greater giant of political and public media", Mr Norton said.
