AT APPROXIMATELY 1:00 AM AEST - Jason Ragan (Trvthseeker) resigned as President of the Republic of Titulia. Administrators accepted his request citing while no current citizen-operated software feature was in place for the President to do so, Ragan indicated their intention to emigrate and it was honoured.

"Today, the President of the Republic official submitted his resignation", the Administrators said in their blog.

"This is an unprecedented event for which there is currently no software feature by which the president could resign himself. However, since citizen Trvthseeker also announced his desire to emigrate, we had no other choice than accepting his request and removing him as president of the republic".

"Therefore, the republic has no president. New presidential elections can be called by presidents of founded parties at any time".

Business community figure and TMG CEO Erina Jensen congratulated former president Ragan on making 'the right decision for Titulia'.

"I won't mince words - I had some ill-will towards the Ragan administration not because of personalities but some of their decisions", Ms Jensen said.

"I think the former president made the right decision for Titulia".

"But this isn't a time to dwell on the past - it's a time to knuckle down for Titulia's future and to make sure that we - as citizens - don't make the same mistake again. It was a valuable lesson and one we should take heed of".

I asked former Titulian elder T. J. Norton for comment on the recent events which also targeted him prior to his emigration.

"Best decision ever. Considering the Republicans have imploded, the Linardist Party's reputation and subsequent trustworthy factor is in tatters over Dealgate .. plus I was just informed of their court loss in the case I represented .. and now the Whigs are virtually wiped out - I have high hopes for a strong president arising out of the ashes from the Libertarian Party caucus", Mr Norton said.

"Cabinet members serve at the pleasure of the president.
With Jason[Ragan] gone - so to is the Attorney-General. Whether he resigns now or is replaced under the next president - he is a lame duck with no authority to act. It couldn't have happened to a nicer person", Norton concluded with a laugh.

With recent high-level controversy engulfing the Ragan administration, the curious events in the private sector and the General Court and notable citizens emigrating to the new nation of Akarina™ - citizens on either side will no doubt see the move as an opportunity for positive renewal.

This much is certain. In the hours and days to come, a new hope will rise and Titulia will be more prepared and cautionary of ensuring this will never happen again.
