HERALD VIEWPOINT
Fmr. President Dennis McVicker
5th President of the Republic (May-June 2009)
President, Libertarian Party of Titulia
As I have expected for some time, the Linardists have started a smear campaign after I chose to stand up to them. They have attempted to influence the political process in every possible way, and I decided this influence had to stop.
The story they published about me earlier today was mostly inaccurate, first as former President Avaram can verify we were talking about him joining the GC before the previous election had even ended. He left the RNC because all Justices should leave all political affiliations behind, the fact that this help facilitate the Linardists' exclusion of the RNC from the last election is merely coincidental.
I will come clean about certain facts in their article, I did point out the fact that the RNC could be shut out of the election to MC Daddy D if it was called on the first possible day. It was him however that made that decision not me, as he pointed out in their first article about calling the election.
Have there been behind the scenes political deals worked out during my two campaigns? No. That is not to say I have not strategized with members of other parties to work out a strategy that was beneficial to me being elected, but there were never offers made for their support of me. Have I done things that were sneaky to undermine the candidacy of my opponents? Hell yes, the whole point of politics is winning elections. I would have been doing my party and the citizens of Titulia a huge disservice had I not pointed out my opponents' weaknesses.
I have done a lot behind the scenes to get elected, but I have never compromised my beliefs, and have always put the interests of Titulia ahead of my own. In the last election I caused a scenario where I faced five challengers in hopes of creating an interest, and we saw more activity during the last election then we did in the previous two elections combined. This in no way benefited me, because as you can see my main opponent sits in Liberty House instead of me.
So the next time you read an article in The 'Linardist' Times, remember that they will mix enough truth with their lies to make it seem believable. I may have done many things you may not agree with, but the one thing I'd never do is give up my integrity. If it were not for my integrity, I would still be president and a Linardist instead of a Libertarian.
