IN-FOCUS: DENNIS McVICKER - TODAY'S SAVIOUR OR TOMORROW'S TYRANT?

THE HERALD'S
MAY 2009 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION COVERAGE

IN FOCUS: Dennis McVicker
Libertarian nominee for President of the Republic

Story by ERINA JENSEN - Editorial Partner

THE HERALD asked Libertarian Presidential candidate Mr Dennis McVicker a set of questions shortly before the citizens of Titulia were given their first opportunity to go to the polls to elect their next commander-in-chief.

When asked about his nomination and his views on the election, Mr McVicker took in the question before answering in sincere pose.

"I am firm believer in our republic and its citizens. I believe they will make the right choice in this election. I believe they will try to make an informed decision, and after looking at all the issues they will choose the right candidate", Mr McVicker said.

In considering Mr McVicker's promise to lead, we asked why he thought he would be the national choice to succeed as chief executive.

"I do not want you to vote for me, unless my positions, my leadership, or my knowledge reach out to you. Do not vote for me because you think I'm likeable, or because you get along with me because more is at stake than my ego", Mr McVicker cautioned.

"Is that candidate President Avaram? He thinks so. Am I the right candidate? I too would like to think so. Could the right candidate be Pedro? I'm sure he thinks so as well. Regardless of what we all think the decision is ultimately yours", Mr McVicker warned.

Mr McVicker erred that citizens should not be complacent and need to be careful in choosing the outcome of the ballot.

Raising an eyebrow in response to a question posed by former President Alexander Pijanowski (LIB) in the Titulia.com Presidential Debate forum thread, Mr McVicker remains cautious about his opponents and even himself.

"This campaign has made me sure of one thing. Titulia needs my leadership now more than ever", he said.

"I do not want you to vote for me, unless my positions, my leadership, or my knowledge reach out to you. Be informed before you vote, because today's savior could be tomorrow’s tyrant. Above all else though you must vote early and vote often".
